The annual list compiled by Forbes marked a milestone this year, with all 10 of the richest people in China having an estimated net worth of US$1 billion or more. Just three people had a net worth over that amount last year, according to the magazine. After the top 10, the Forbes tally went on to list 30 more of China's wealthiest people. Further down the list, Robin Li, the chief executive officer (CEO) and chairman of search engine operator Baidu.com, was ranked as number 17 with an estimated net worth of US$530 million.
